INFORMATION ARDEX S 4
ARDEX S4 is a water-based liquid solution designed to penetrate deeply into the concrete slab eliminating the risk of moisture-related problems. ARDEX S4 can be applied to green concrete slabs where it will penetrate deeply into the slab and react with the free lime forming a hardened gel substance; filling pores, voids, hairline cracks and trapped air cells, creating a permanent slab seal against moisture.

Substrates:
For old existing slabs, ensure the concrete is clean dry and free of dust, wax, grease, asphalt, latex compounds, curing and sealing compounds and any other surface contaminants that can affect penetration. Mechanically clean the floor using recommended preparation methods such as shot blasting, scarifying, diamond grinding, shaving or other suitable methods to provide clean, sound solid and an open porous surface to ensure effective penetration of ARDEX S4. Acid etching is not an acceptable method of cleaning the subfloor. Do not use solvents or sweeping compounds. Concrete must comply with the current proper concrete mix ratio. Concrete slab temperature must be a minimum of 10°C.
Coverage:
ARDEX S4 is packaged in a 20-litre pail, and it will cover approximately 90 m2 at a coverage rate of 4.5 m2 per litre for horizontal application & 45 m2 at the coverage of 2.25m2 per litre for vertical application.
